Ysgol Gynradd Llanfachraeth - Headmistresss and children dressed in Sankwia clothes

We aim to set up school to school links from Anglesey to the Gambia.  To allow children in Wales and the Gambia to learn about their respective country,culture, life and learning – to aim to build understanding and friendship for the future. To begin this process visits have been made to local schools giving the children a brief taste of life in a small remote Gambian Village.

The headmasters of the schools in The Gambia and in Amlwch will have direct contact through this page.  The aim is for photos and text regarding general life, school projects and developments to enable a greater understanding of  Wales and The Gambia.  As time progresses it is hoped that children, through their schools, will forge friendships for the future. As internet speeds improve in The Gambia, the charity will provide the schools with Web Cams to facilitate “face to face” contact and learning – live lessons across the miles.
